Samsung Is Top Of The Pile.

In the world of mobiles Samsung overtake Nokia as the biggest manufacturer of mobile phones. With the Galaxy SII  outselling the IPhone and the new Samsung smart-phone due for release in the next few weeks it should interesting to see how the market reacts.

The Galaxy SII is a joy to use with smooth fluid responses to your every touch and a fast and almost lag free media performance it is easy to see why this phone is so popular. Currently the Galaxy SII is available on most major networks although it can be purchased sim free.

Restart Game.

The high street computer retailer Games has been open for business for while now since it's shock closure as the firm went in to administration. They are now accepting Gift cards again. The high street does need a games retailer and the return of Game is most welcome. Hopefully they can sort out the supply issues that have bogged them down and start to be a bit more competitive.

Microsoft Vs Motolrola

It has been found by a court in Mannheim, Germany that Microsoft had infringed two Motorola patents relating to the H.264 compression   standard. The H.264 compression codecs are used by many sites and devices including YouTube, mobile phones and Blu-ray discs. H.264 defines a set of codecs that are used to compress video. Now that Google are about to acquire Motorola ($12.5bn) the case is of even more interest. The sad thing however is that if Motorola get their way and Microsoft have to pay extortionate licencing fees we could see a ban or a withdrawal of Microsoft products in Germany or the EU. A court in the States has blocked Motorola from trying to enforce a ban in the US. This is certainly one to watch.

Phone Warranty - The Answer?

The thought of purchasing an extended warranty for mobile phones sends most of us in to a defensive mode. The fear of being ripped off kicks in and we politely decline. Most extended warranties that you can purchase on the high street are sadly worthless. Some of the phone insurance offers that you can purchase at the time of purchasing a new contract online can work out to be expensive and have more get out clauses than you would care to think of.

Square Trade 3-Year Warranty Plus Accident Protection might be the answer. It states drops and spills on the amazon site. It does not cover theft. It is essentially as it states an extended warranty that also covers drops and spills and splashes. The best bit is that for three years it is currently priced at about £62 which is not too bad. The reviews seem good. Before you rush off to Amazon to buy it for your phone please read the T&C's and key-facts information to be sure of the exact details of cover offered or you can call Square trade for more info on; 0800 433 4789.
